How Do We Attract Things Energetically?
Every thought that arises in your mind gives rise to an emotion in the subconscious. Those emotions are then radiated outward into your energetic field — your aura. This is because emotions are, at their root, energies in motion. Your aura, in this sense, is a magnetic energy field — and the universe is always responding to what you are radiating.
Like any magnet, it both attracts and repels according to its energetic charge. You have likely encountered people who seem to have a naturally magnetic quality — others are drawn to them without quite understanding why. And you have encountered others who seem to keep people at a distance, who find connection less natural. The difference is often energetic.
The same principle operates in the causal plane. You attract the energies you carry in your thoughts. Hence the teaching: what we think, we become.
Everything is energy. Like attracts like. And focused energy expands the thought that generated it.
Why Do We Absorb Energy from Others?
You can — and you do — pick up energies from those around you. Because we are all energy beings on this dense, energy-rich planet, we are constantly in contact with energetic fields beyond our own. Whether we are aware of it or not, we live in a pool of energies. The body carries its own electromagnetic field, which receives and transmits energetic information continuously.
Our aura encounters and interacts with the energetic fields of everything around it. Sometimes external energies can attach to the aura through resonance, negatively impacting our sense of wellbeing — this is what becomes an intrusive energy.
You have likely experienced this: standing next to someone and noticing a feeling that does not feel entirely your own. It arrives unexpectedly — sometimes pleasant, sometimes unsettling or anxious. Your energy field is picking up on that information all the time, and it surfaces as what we call intuition.
When negative feelings or thought-patterns from others linger even after you have left that person, place, or group — that persistence is a sign of intrusive energy that has attached to your field.
Recognising this is the first step. And in therapeutic work — particularly hypnotherapy — it becomes possible to address these attachments directly, gently clearing what does not belong to you and restoring your own natural energetic clarity.
